John Rambo, the quintessential action character whose bravery and courage enthralls the viewer and keeps them coming back, is finally coming to an end. Rambo Last Blood marks the fifth and final film featuring John Rambo’s action-packed experiences. Rambo Last Blood, starring Sylvester Stalone as John Rambo, makes for a one-hour-forty-minute-long epic. And it is not a boring 100 minutes; the movie is full of action and suspense that will make the time flash by.

Although, this movie is a bit different than the previous Rambo films. In past films, Rambo is sent abroad to Vietnam, Burma, or Afghanistan to combat violent military troops, but in this, he drives down to Mexico to save his adoptive daughter from a sex trafficking organization. You’re probably wondering: how did John Rambo get into this mess?

Eleven years have passed since John Rambo returned from his mission in Burma (in Rambo). Rambo is now living and taking care of his deceased father’s farmhouse in Arizona with his old friend Maria and her granddaughter, Gabriela.

The granddaughter, Gabriela, is living with her grandmother because her mom passed away when she was young. Her father had abandoned her years ago and gone down to Mexico to start a new family. But Gabriela refused to accept that her father didn’t care about her and, after receiving a tip that he was living in Mexico, she decided to go visit him, against the recommendation of Rambo and Maria.

After driving down to Mexico without either Rambo or Maria knowing, she stays with her friend and visits her father.

But her reunion with her father doesn’t go well; he is not happy to see her and slams the door on her. She is upset by her father’s actions and to cheer her up, her friend takes her to a well-known nightclub. Little does she know, this club is frequented by sex trafficking rings headed by Cartels.

Gabriela is drugged and taken to a run-down building where she is forced into a small, battered cell. The sex traffickers have captured her.

John Rambo knows the dangers that exist in Mexico. He soon arrives in Mexico and begins to uncover what happened to his adoptive daughter. He is on the trail of the traffickers, but finding information from people who speak a different language and are intimidated by the cartel, proves to be difficult.

Will Rambo save Gabriela and take down these cruel, violent, and inhumane traffickers? You will just have to watch and find out. But I promise you, you will not be disappointed by the film.

In addition to its suspense–given that the dialogue is co-written by Stalone himself–the viewer gets a real element of the actor, Stalone, and with that, John Rambo.

Take warning though; there are some gory and disturbing elements that I could have done without. This is an R-rated film, so make sure you watch this film with caution.
