With the school year fully underway, the Boulder High theater department is amping up to deliver yet another year of high quality projects. Whether you are new to the program, a curious onlooker, or a seasoned veteran, there are a variety of projects to get involved in.
Black Box
Blackbox is a performance of several back to back one-act plays, each directed, planned, and put on by students. It is a chance for those theater-inclined to showcase their independence and expertise, leading the entire creative process from start to finish. It is a grand undertaking of hard work and passion, and a fantastic opportunity to exhibit the ingenuity, creativity, and perseverance at boulder high. Lily Kraus, Oli Ruzic, and Eli Frick will be leading the productions this year.
Though auditions are closed, The performances are set to air from the 27th to 29th at 7:00pm.
Haunted house
The boulder high haunted house is infamous for its consistent quality and dedicated members, turning the boulder high theater tunnels into a frightening maze. Led by Ila Parkin, El Monahan and Kaya Surden, this year promises to be a worthy entry to the haunted house hall of fame with its new and properly horrifying theme: Toybox.
“Once upon a time, around 1923, there lived three little girls who had a precious toy box. They would play with their toys every day, until one day, they stopped. The toys loved to play, and they missed their friends more and more as their chest was locked, and put in the attic. Over time, the toys grew resentful and angry that they had been abandoned, and now, 100 years later, when the lock on their box has finally broken, the toys have decided to play with you. Welcome to the Toy Box.”
Auditions for the haunted house will be held early October after school. Don’t miss it!
Musical Production
