On March 21, 2019 from 2:15-3PM Boulder High School FBLA hosted the American Enterprise Extravaganza in Boulder High School’s main gym. Sports teams at Boulder High participated as “businesses” in this event that simulated the free market system in America. Each program had representatives that attended this event in order to promote and sell a product of their choice whether that be bake sale goods, purchased goods, or another product.  Boulder High FBLA provided two tickets for each student upon their entry into the simulation. Boulder High students, who acted as the buyers, could then use these tickets in order to purchase goods from programs at a ticket price of that program’s choosing. This event was hosted in order to demonstrate to the students and staff of Boulder High the extreme importance the American Enterprise system presents in their lives as well as the benefits they may gain by creating a successful “business.”

Boulder High FBLA members, led by Sunny Pine and Tess Loven, held this event in order to compete in FBLA State Competitions in April. FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) is a student organization with the goal to teach its students about the business world and how to best work within it. The American Enterprise Chapter Project is meant to teach FBLA members and community members about the American Enterprise System and allows for these teachings to span through local school communities. Thus far, the Boulder FBLA Chapter has already taught the BHS FBLA Chapter members, as well as a local fifth grade class, the benefits and the hardships of being a part of the American Enterprise system. Thanks to the help of the Boulder High Community who attended our event we were able reach our goal of spreading knowledge about American Enterprise.
