At Boulder High School this year, many sports teams found success on the field. Throughout the fall, winter, and spring seasons, athletes and teams alike set school records, defied odds, and made Boulder High proud. While all moments of every team’s season couldn’t be commemorated here, below are highlights from some of our teams’ impressive 2025-2026 seasons, including team and player achievements, records, and standings.
Fall:
-Boys’ Soccer: After a win during their August 26th home opener, the Boys Soccer program was named the winningest 5A program in Colorado since 2009. Additionally, the team went undefeated in their league with a 6-0 record and an overall 13-5 record for the season. The team beat Fairview twice during the season by only one goal both times. After an incredible regular season, the team qualified for the state tournament and made it all the way to the quarterfinals. Finally, this year marked off Coach Hardy Kalisher’s final season coaching for Boulder High. After over 20 years as head coach, he announced that he was stepping down after the season had finished.
-Cross country: As a team that relies heavily on the success of individual athletes, the cross country team delivered this season. Lucas Wik beat the BHS boys’ 5k record by 20 seconds. Lukas Haug set the previous record in 2020 by running a 5k in 15:20.03. On September 13th of this year, at the Liberty Bell Invitational, Wik ran a 5k in 15:00.2. At the Pat Patten Invitational, the boys’ team finished in 1st place, and the girls ‘ team finished in 2nd. The boys and girls teams won the Rocky Mountain League Championship, and both teams placed 2nd at regionals and 4th at states.
-Girls’ Field Hockey: While field hockey is a BVSD team, it is housed at Boulder High, and many of the team’s athletes are BHS students. This year, the team qualified for the playoffs and made it all the way to the quarter finals after beating Mountain Vista 1-0. Thanks to their strong performance over the season, two players on the team were named All-Conference athletes, and two players were selected for the All-State 1st Team.
-Boys’ Golf: While boys’ golf is a highly individual sport, both the team and the players found success this year. The team finished second in the league standings and had players finish 1st, 2nd, and 10th in league player rankings, and during the 5A state championship, golfer Pierce Johnson had a top 20 finish.
-Football: During the homecoming game, Boulder football found an exciting 5-point win. The team faced off against Lakewood and was able to come out on top with a 27-22 win in front of a full student section.
Winter:
-Girl’s Basketball: The girls basketball team had a 15-10 record this season and a 9-3 league record, placing them second in the Rocky Mountain Basketball League. During their game versus Fairview this season, they were sent to overtime where they ultimately came out on top, beating Fairview 50-43. Along with that, the team made the state playoffs and won their first playoff game in 15 years to advance to the second round. On an individual level, Lexi Oder, ‘27, broke the Boulder High girls basketball all-time scoring record as just a junior by scoring 443 points over the course of the season. With scoring that many points, she became the first Boulder High girls’ basketball player in history to hit 1,000 career points.
-Girls Swim: The girls’ swim team came into this season with 16 seniors on the roster. With this wealth of experience, the team had an incredible performance at the Rocky Mountain League Championship. Margaret Chester, ‘26, placed 1st in the 50-meter free and the 500-meter free. Hazel Huilman, ‘26, placed 1st in the 100-meter free and the 200-meter individual medley. Boulder also placed 1st in the 200 and 400-meter free relays. With these performances, the team also had many athletes qualify for the state tournament. At the state tournament. Huilman finished 2nd in the 100-meter fly and 6th in the 100-meter breast. Chester finished 8th in the 100-meter free and 9th in the 50-meter free.

-Boys’ Basketball: This year, the Boulder High Boys Basketball team was all about setting records. They finished 3rd in the Rocky Mountain League thanks to the record-breaking performance of their players. Wyatt Stamm, ‘26, broke the single-season steals record, racking up 59 steals over the course of the season. Lake Smith, ‘26, broke the career assist record with 263 career assists on the same night he hit 1000 career points. Drew Hyde, ‘26, also broke the single-game steals record, having nine steals against Mountain Range. To close off the season, Smith was named 1st Team All Conference, Stamm was named 2nd Team All Conference, and Simon James, ‘26, was an All Conference Honorable Mention.
Spring:
-Girls’ Soccer: As of April 29th, the girls’ soccer team is undefeated in league play with a 5-0 record. With this performance, the team is 1st in the Rocky Mountain League and set to make the Colorado 5A playoffs just like they did last year. On March 27th, the team beat the Fairview Knights 2-1on Fairview turf in only their third game of the year, setting the tone for the season.
-Girls’ Lacrosse: The girls lacrosse team, although housed at Fairview High School, has a roster with many Boulder High Students. With their contributions to the team, they have a 10-3 record as of April 29th. They are currently ranked 3rd in the entire state of Colorado, thanks to the teams they have beaten in their 10 wins!
-Girls’ Tennis: Girls’ tennis has won 6 matches as a team so far this spring season. In one of their midseason tournaments, the team came in 3rd out of 17th, an impressive performance against other strong programs. As of April 29th, the team is sitting at 2nd place in the Rocky Mountain League. The team as a whole was able to qualify for the state tournament, which only the top 16 teams in the state make, and for individual players, the state tournament is still to come.
-Track and Field: Track is another highly individual sport that found success this season. Calia Vaughn, ‘28, ran a 4:55-minute mile this season, and Toby Wong, ‘26, broke 2 minutes in the 800-meter run, getting a time of 1:59.94. Additionally, Vaughn will be going to the state championship to run in the 3200, 1600, and 800-meter races. As a team, the girls are heading to states for the 4×4 and 4×8 relays. With the league race still to come as of April 29th, the girls’ and boys’ teams are favored and hoping to win.
