Looking for a way to find community and expand your knowledge? From improv performances to French films to stock market debates, Boulder High’s newest clubs are aimed at building community and long-lasting friendships, uncovering new talents, and expanding knowledge. Here are a few of Boulder High’s recently founded clubs worth checking out.
One of the most exciting new additions is Pantherprov, a unique club that combines improvisation with community building. Founded by Alex Miller, ’27, Pantherprov grew out of their experience teaching preteens and teens improv over the summer. Miller states that they “wanted to find a way to make it a year-round experience.” The purpose of the club is simple: to create joy, laughter, and community.
Pantherprov also acts as a place where students can challenge their public speaking skills in a supportive environment. “Public speaking is scary,” asserts Miller, “Letting your guard down in front of people you may not know well is scary. But you know what’s even scarier? Spending all of high school without friends or a supportive community in a space that feels hostile.” Pantherprov, on the other hand, is all about creating a space where students feel comfortable being their authentic selves.
As of the new year, Pantherprov is starting up again and Miller hopes to add new students to the team. If you are looking to build friendships, community and have fun, Pantherprov is a great club to join. It is also great if you intend to improve your public speaking and performance skills.
Students interested in seeing them perform can see them in action at Trident Booksellers and Cafe on Pearl St. More information about the performance times will be released in the near future.
Another new and promising club is French Club, led by Madison Sanford, ’26. The French club focuses on expanding Boulder High’s cultural scope and, as Sanford put it, “bringing attention to the possibility of taking French as a language class.” Meetings feature French food, friendly peers, and activities that represent French culture. Right now, Sanford states that the club is “having hot chocolate and watching the movie ‘Ratatouille.’”
While the club existed last year, it met infrequently and had small turnout. Under Sanford’s leadership, the club’s size, organization, and influence have grown. No prior knowledge of the French language is required and meetings are held on Thursdays during common lunch. Sanford encourages students to join the club in room 3365 or follow its instagram @bhsfrenchclubbb.
Another club that recently came into the picture is the Boulder High Stocks Club, founded by seniors Anton Taranda, ’26, and Roger Shen, ’26. The club covers topics ranging from basic investing terms to real stock research and market discussions. “We want people who are curious about the stock market, want to build long-term wealth, or just want to learn more about finance,” Taranda said. Guest speakers including professional economists and professors occasionally speak at meetings. Like the two previous clubs, no prior knowledge or experience is required. The club is offered every other Thursday in the math wing during common lunch and snacks are provided.
If you are looking to join a club, these three options are great places to check out. Whether it’s Pantherprov, French Club, or Stocks Club, all offer welcoming spaces to grow and learn. Make memories and build connections that will last beyond high school!
