While traveling down Colfax, the glistening spire of Casa Bonita is hard to miss. But this pink metropolis stands for more than what meets the eye.
After clawing through the reservation process, I finally acquired a table at this fine Colorado establishment. Known for its nostalgic charm, this restaurant has sure gotten a much-needed upgrade.
Met by security upon entry, the vast building is nothing short of a maze. Sat in a cave-like room I ordered the carnitas tacos. While not the best tacos I’ve ever had, I got the feeling that most people don’t come to Casa Bonita for the food.
Although the food was nothing to write home about, the sopapillas were the star of the show. Unfortunately, as a gluten-free person, I could not try these delightful delicacies for myself, but from the sopapilla flags to brilliant reviews, it was clear that these sopapillas were show-stopping.
After dinner, the next stop was a magic show called the Sorsoro Show. This fantastical event seemed to be loosely chemistry-inspired using things like test tubes and beakers to create fanciful exhibitions. Halfway through the awe-inspiring show Sorsoro selected me as a participant from the audience. Whilst having my hand submerged into a solid wooden crate, Sorsoro slid my arms into two metal rings. Overall, Sorsoro was an interactive, fun experience that engaged children and adults alike.

But the star of the show, the pinnacle of Casa Bonita entertainment, were the cliff divers. These speedo-sporting divers stole the show with their awe-inspiring performance. This entertainment is the foundation that Casa Bonita is built upon and truly lives up to the hype.
Overall, this sprawling new restaurant sure made a splash, and if not for the overwhelming ticket process and the average food, it has grown into an amazing experience for all ages to enjoy.
