Campus Beautification a Roaring Success

Every year, Boulder High’s chapter of the National Honor Society carries out group volunteer projects to help the community. This year, NHS project managers Natalie Bruhweiler and Jack McConnell chose to collaborate with admin and facilitate a group cleanup of the Boulder High Campus.

Early on Saturday morning, Dec. 7, around 50 NHS members gathered to beautify the school. Admin tasked the group with a variety of cleaning jobs inside the school. The students were broken up into small groups to tackle cleaning desks, windows, and cafeteria tables. A smaller group was responsible for emptying all of our trophy cases and cleaning each one.

The whole project ran for about three hours, and students left each room and hallway gleaming. Senior Grace Schwab said that “it was really fun to see the old trophies and yearbooks from all the way back to 1927. I didn’t even know we had that stuff.”

After completing their volunteer work, many NHS members went a step further in supporting the Boulder High community by cheering on our sophomore and JV boys basketball teams. It was a great morning overall!
