Vivian Thomasset

Vivian Thomasset, Writer

Vivian Thomasset is a senior at Boulder High School and is a Staff Writer on The Owl staff. She is an avid theatergoer and performer, a member of Troupe 60, and a vocal member of the choir. When not sitting in class, you can see her frantically applying for as many theater opportunities as possible in the Boulder community. This is her first year working for the Newspaper, and she is excited to pursue entertainment through a writing scope. She can go on for hours about niche topics such as the Disney Rennaisance and why movie musicals are so terrible at this moment. Vivian does prefer a crisp green grape (preferrably Cotton Candy) to a red one.

As easy as it may be to write on a page, a Google Search result will never show a true image of "success", as there are so many ways to achieve it for ourselves.

Defining Success

From Catholic saints to Pagan holidays and Shakespeare, from where can
we trace the origins of Valentine’s Day? And who is responsible for putting
chocolates in heart-shaped boxes?

Vivian Thomasset, Staff Writer August 22, 2025

Valentine’s Day. One of the most famously commercialized holidays, bringing to mind images of chocolates, flowers, bears holding hearts, and flourishing romantic relationships. How did this holiday come...

The Boulder High Auditorium has many events, and therefore can accumulate a lot of trash. If not cleaned up, the trash can lead to rats and other vermin in the auditorium. Not picking up trash is an additional example of a lack of respect that is held by the student body for our shared spaces.

It has now been five years since the first outbreak of COVID-19, which, as we all know, led to a global shutdown that affected businesses and people and intensely impacted the theatrical community. It...

While we cozy up during the holidays, Hallmark movies may be a great option to enjoy in our free time.

Hallmark Movies: Score or Bore?

Vivian Thomasset, Staff Writer December 17, 2024

When I hear the words “Hallmark Movies,” a few things come to mind: Horrible tropes, middling cinematography, and formulaic plot arcs generally featuring some small-town girl traveling to “The Big...
