Taurus (Apr 20-May 20): Save your money this summer (ahem) and make your own ice cream instead of buying it! The best part is, this way you get to create flavors that are entirely unique and all your own. Curate them to your own tastes and hot takes!
Gemini (May 21-Jun 21): When you’re looking for post inspiration this summer, try hosting a picnic at Chautauqua! Bring along a basket, a blanket, and a few friends. Or, if you’re feeling fancy, go for brunch at the restaurant there (since, let’s be honest, you might forget the food.)
Cancer (Jun 22-Jul 22): Rumors are that Elitch’s is moving, but so far it looks like it will remain open for 2025! Make sure you get in a few rollercoaster rides or Tower of Doom drops this summer before Elitch’s closes, and try out the old wooden rollercoaster at Lakeside! The water park opens on Memorial Day weekend, and we know you’ll be one of the first to go!
Leo (Jul 23-Aug 22): The world’s a stage, Leo, and the spotlight is on you! Specifically, the sun, which you will absolutely be lounging in any time the UV gets above three. Spend an afternoon tanning at the pool or the reservoir, and make sure to splash in before you get too burned (that sunburn last summer hurt.) For an extra bit of fun, bring some Super Soakers or water balloons for a water fight!
Virgo (Aug 23-Sep 22): The stars told me you’re a fan of local events, Pinterest-worthy photos, and low-key days. This summer, bike down to the farmers market on Saturday or Wednesday to pick up some seasonal fruit, local honey, and fresh flowers! (Maybe even rent one of those pastel bikes with the basket in front, and put your flowers in there on the way home! You’re welcome.)
Libra (Sep 23-Oct 23): Looking for a new excuse to socialize? Head to the Boulder Creek Fest in late May for carnival games and rides, henna designs, face painting, and tons of food! You can even snag some thrifted items or goods from local artists while you catch up with friends and enjoy the sunshine.
Scorpio (Oct 24-Nov 21): No drama, Scorpio, but you’re supposedly the most theatrical sign. (Though, this is coming from a Leo, so take that with a grain of salt.) For a cool and artsy activity, go see a performance at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, right in the heart of Boulder! Shows this summer include The Tempest, Richard II, and Doctor Faustus.
Sagittarius (Nov 22-Dec 21): Did you know that according to someone’s college project on Tumblr – reliable source, I know – out of hundreds of famous musicians interviewed from the ‘60s to present day, the most common zodiac sign was Sagittarius? This summer, catch a concert (or six) at the Boulder or Fox Theater!
Capricorn (Dec 22-Jan 19): Capricorns are regarded as one of the most adventurous and outdoorsy signs. This summer, spend your time outside, challenging yourself to hike Green Mountain or Sanitas, or maybe a fourteener or two! Or, bring some friends and try out some bouldering in Boulder!
Aquarius (Jan 20-Feb 18): Being a winter child doesn’t stop you from having a great summer! Grab some friends and spend your afternoons in the various parks around Boulder this summer. You can fly a kite, practice your frisbee skills, have a pickup football game, and see how many shapes you can find in the clouds when you get tired! (Make sure to bring some lemonade or sparkling water!)
Pisces (Feb 19-Mar 20): As the artsiest sign, you’re looking for something unique and out-of-the-box to do this summer. Try an art night or two on Pearl: stop in to some of Boulder’s painting and pottery labs, from Color Me Mine to Groundworks Art Lab. There, you can make your own pottery, paint pre-made dishes, or make art with a couple friends. You could even thrift some jeans to embroider!
