Her boss tells her that if she can write a backward “How To” column about driving away a man in ten days using common mistakes women make when dating, then she can write any article she wants. “How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days.” In steps Benjamin Barry (Matthew McConaughey), an advertising executive, competes with his female colleagues to work on a major diamond campaign. His boss agrees that if Benjamin can make a woman fall in love with him in ten days, he can have the account. They each have hidden agendas, but what will be the outcome as they begin to fall for each other? Ben uses all his charm to make Andie fall for him as Andie pushes him away with comical effects. The movie is filled with cliche moments of talking in movie theaters, forcing Ben to grab her Coke during a scintillating moment during a Knicks game and couples therapy. This movie will have you laughing, crying, and falling in love. 5/5 stars!

Mia (Emma Stone), a struggling actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a pianist, are drawn together by a series of chance encounters. Mia is stuck in traffic on the way to an audition when she and Seb meet for the first time. After a wrecked audition, Mia finds a bar where she hears Seb improvise, and it is love at first sight. A few chance encounters later, they meet at the coffee shop where Mia works, and she expresses her longing for the stage while he shares his passion for jazz. They support each other, and a wonderful love story blossoms. All too soon, though, they find that their careers are more important, and they begin to grow apart. This movie will make you laugh and cry. It is a poignant love story of love at first sight and the pain of commitment—a must-watch.
