Boulder High School’s Aria choir attended the 2018 CU Madrigal Festival on Nov. 7. There were over 500 choir students from 24 schools who attended from all over Colorado. Every choir was given the same three songs to prepare for the festival and had the option to prepare another song to perform on stage. It was so beautiful and incredible to be able to have so many voices come together in one room. We got to work with a clinician, Dr. Sharon Paul, who is a professor of music, chair of vocal and choral studies and director of choral activities at the University of Oregon. We had the amazing opportunity to work on three songs, Mack Wilberg’s “Saints Bound for Heaven”; Susan LaBarr’s “Now Touch the Air Softly”; and Craig Hella Johnson’s “Let the River Run.”
